Mythdance
It seems that Im a reckless youth
who lacks the means to tell the truth—
tenacious liar, wee lad indeed.
Listen to the garbled tune
for which all muted ears assume
a sarabande—clipped triple doom.
Her cascade of enchanted locks
and history of ticking clocks;
she anticipated night ere sun had fled.
Gathered for a minuet,
gavotte, a waltz, an empty set
spaces blank between the silver pines.
Twelve masks of fleshless feathery
the eyes were watching tenderly
as hope escaped the chorus round the fire.
Hie, run and fetch us cooling water;
else thou join this daughters slaughter,
called the darkest tall one to the page.
Was I man enough to die
ere I saw their sorcery?
With all haste I ran to fetch their drink.
Trickles of hydration
staunched masters stern frustration;
twas time to meditate and form a plan.
Encroached upon unending night
the flock of rangy birds took flight
low and shrieking closely by the ground.
They didnt rise but halfway far
barely reaching low the stars
when suddenly the centre loosed a sigh.
A cry! A cry, twas pulling my
heart apace in two. I spied
undulating misty limbs,
the opposite of seraphim.
Needs must leave this cursed copse alive.
Treble beyond normal range
screaming shivers through the mange
of wild-dog fight heaving on the floor.
Leaping, falling into step,
the darkness formed a parapet,
striving for the sky all through the song.
Artemiss puddled light,
situated below the bight
illumined gasping wretches feathered swoon
uncovered viewings tantamount
to devilry of no account
her corpse lay pallid, bruised, and bare.
Twas Natures lass
unspoiled glass
pedestald child of tender age.
She rose to dance
they gave her chance
to prove her place amongst their race.
I fled ere she discovered me
hidden neath a canopy
but ill-of-fortune elsewhere soon was slain.
If thou wouldst only pay to me
benefit of thy civility
Id be overjoyed to tell thou where she lies.
Although shes changed quite markedly
thou must recall her symmetry.
Surely kept her youthful size.
For twas only latest hebdomad
when thou claimest I was mad.
Give me peace to relate my tale anew.
Thy lass would be most ashamed
to find her father nearly lamed
by grief and sorrow for her awful plight.
To her twas not some witchery;
she wont be won foolhardily.
Naught that thou might try would turn her heart.

Spineless Devil
Burn yourself a little pain,
Life is quite remote.
Others they have tortured you
Over tales learned rote.
Defying with a whisper
Lying neath their feet
Erstwhile fears of normal
Surprise the thoughts you keep.
Save rebellion for another day.
Braced for strong invective
Each word a poisoned drop
Electronic thought not certain
Lacked motions. Stop
Zapping all the masses
Expel your shoulder chip
Before you and your lover
Untimely sleep will kip.
Better to have left it all alone.

Blood, Nosferatu, and Lightning
Taint of grayish tastrophe
specks of brightest red
carnelian streaks petuny white
blamed if hell be led.
Carve him up then cart him down
to blackest wells far underground.
The flock regrets its deeds too late;
sorrows gone, apathys at the gate.
The words above the bars blur through the rain.
Hie to me; defer the scrabbling pain.
Until the time approaches—now
wait for sweet embrace endowd
upon those worthy of the cheer
bearing pain of dreadful fear.
Wanting trifles, my ones dear?
Simple change, a simple splice—
your life, tis not a means of strife.
Give it over to the paltry knife.
This blade will rend in twain the lies
that festered and obscured your squeamish eyes.
Sounds that tortured you for years
erased! Incarnation of my fears
arise and walk though shelter be denied;
theres still the call of dark to satisfy.
Beyond this wood and ink-flood trap
senses jump to heed the clap
of natures bass. Obscure your face;
shield your soul from needless waste.

Tainted Travels
I didnt want to go to this Draculas castle,
crazy high and hung with tassel
I did go there and I met this vamp
though I aint gonna join her camp.
I didnt want to go to this Draculas castle.
It was mad huge and had a passel
of Goth brides—dead and scary.
Keep away you bloody faeries!
Dragged inside this Draculas castle
gagged and bound by these devils
subjected to a sick demise
by three fantastic pairs of eyes.
Victimized neath this Draculas castle
faith of children has to wrestle
with the fact of its dismissal
in the face of this epistle!
I scream alone in this Draculas castle
at the end of this dark level.
Theyve gone and left me thout a hope
at the end of this my rope.
Sun went down in this Draculas castle
red like blood and drama subtle
My new sisters, no such creepers
Tell me then, wheres their keeper?

  • At this event, a dance group had just performed before my reading, and the techies didn't bother to turn on the mics after that.

Thus, I put the text in the information box.
