  • Great Santa Fe models.

That layout looks very much like the previous Summit station in Cajon Pass.

    Am I right?

    Cheers

  • @jamcgar It is indeed Summit Station at Cajon. One of our Members scratch built the whole Summit Station area and it really looks good too. Thanks for the comment.

  • @JIMBOSKI58 They are indeed Genesis units. It was funny, because about a year and a half ago,I wrote Athearn an E- mail asking if they would ever do the FP - 45 in the Genesis line and their reply was the had no plans on doing that model....LOL,boy was I surprised.I got both of mine without sound and added MRC sound decoders to them.Check out some of my other videos with the FP-45s.Have a good day.

  • @ACLTony - I was wrong as suspected. Searched the Athearn web page and there are FP45's currently available in the "early" paint scheme with small, black Santa Fe side lettering. The "See-Thru" grills is the dead give-away. Most of the Genesis units available are in the "late" paint scheme with the large, red Santa Fe side lettering. When in doubt, do the research, right? Thanks for confirming and happy railroading!!!

  • @JIMBOSKI58 -Jim, these look like Genesis. The cab has the Seafoam Green engineer's control stand, there is a gyra-lite that's functinal, and the radiator grills are "See-Thru". Identical to the unit I have. I also have several of the old blue box FP45s as well that I plan on selling off and buy another Genesis FP45. Take care :-)

  • @ACLTony I'm not sure that they are Athearn Genesis units. They might be Blue-Box older units from kits. The first Santa Fe FP45's had small, black Santa Fe lettering on the sides as shown. After a stint in the blue-yellow theme, they were repainted as shown but with large, red lettering. Maybe I should search the Athearn web site. I may be wrong about them being Genesis units, but the first units purchased by Santa fe had the small, black lettering and numbered in the 100's.

  • hi there i have an fp45 my self just wondering where would i get the sound system from due to i am 13 years old

  • Beautiful looking Athearn Genesis units! I know you're a happy camper! I recently got #107 w/o sound. I plan on installing a QSI sound unit in it. Thanks for posting this :)
