I fact, if Harper found his balls, now would be a good time to try and slam something through. As long as it isn't something god awful, I bet at least one of the parties would break. The Bloc are hurthing, the NPD are slightly hurting and underfunded, and the Libs are flat broke.

I agree for the most part although I'm sure the Libs must have taken some amount of votes from the NPD. Dion was so incompetent that he lost a lot of votes and a fair amount of those Libs would have voted NPD. That said, I'm sure its a lot smaller amount then the media is making it out to be.
As for Layton, I think he is safe and I agree he probably won't vote with Harper, but honestly I could see all 3 opposition parties voting with Harper. Absolutely nobody wants an election right now.
