  • @Copperswilly thats very true i have a roller trailer and i learned that the hard way...but luckily my boat only rolled half way down the trailer and not all the way off

  • where's the video "how to load your boat by yourself?

  • Coppersilly is correct, a roller trailer is a different situation. I learned the hard way. Unhooked my boat, started backing down the ramp, tapped my brakes and the boat slid off the trailer before I got into the water. Boat motor hit the ramp and broke the prop. Boat was bow up in the air. Luckily it was an old boat and didn't get damaged.

So, follow AmericanAngling's video when using a bunk style trailer only.

  • Actually Copperswilly you are partially right. But instead remove the safity chain but leave the winch cable hooked to the boat because as you back down the ramp the boat will shift to the rear tightening the safety chain which will be impossible to remove. But with the winch cable, once the boat is in the water you can unlock the winch and roll out the cable creating enough slack to disconnect from the boat.

  • You could simply tie your rope to the dock it will save you some rope burn & any other acident that may occur!

  • Hmmm but what if the dock is much taller then the boat in the water

  • People with roller trailer should never remove the safety chain...when backing down a ramp with a boat on a roller trailer leave it hooked up or your boat could roll off!!!...this guy should mention that

  • you should see how bill dance launches his boat!

    watch the bloopers on youtube!
