  • It's hard to think this is a high school men's group. You guys sound great. I was actually looking up this song because we're going to be singing it in my collegiate men's group later this year, and I have never heard it before.

    Again, amazing job!

  • not just a high school men's group, a high school men's group dangerously low in numbers.

  • first off all, i accidently clicked delete when i wanted to reply to your last comment, sorry!

second, we had about 15 in that group, which doesnt sound too bad, but one of my old directors used to say 20% of the choir does 80% of the work...if you do the math that means only 3 guys did most of the work...which isnt true, there were only 3 or 4 big voices and the rest were color and blending voices...

  • Thank you so much for the video response!! I am so impressed by this performance of The Quest. It's amazing!

  • Well thank you for the kind comment. We are known in our area as a pretty good program, now I'm trying to get our stuff out there to a larger choral audience ;).

  • I'd sang this song at the 2005-2006 Texas All-State Men's Choir as a freshman of high school and I missed singing it.

  • this song is awesome when its only TTB, im a choir girl and im saying that this song sucks when the girls sing with the men

  • That was very good. The only thing that I could pick out was the very last note and the vowel sound and note in the first tenor. Though, don't get me wrong, it was still incredible.

  • why would a director have 40 girls and 10 guys in a group? this seems like it would create a major balance issue

  • Okay, following along now, I will say it's the same, lol. I don't know personally if this was composed before by someone else lol.

  • Do you remember if this was composed by Joseph Martin?

Because if so, we just got the piece, and it was actually written for the group that I'm in now. It's SMO's (Singing Men of Ohio) 20th anniversary this year, and was done in memory of the founding conductor who died in his office at the end of Fall Quarter that year.

Just thought I'd share that. I had no idea myself.

  • Tenor at the end was awesome. Great performance all around.

  • It's cool about the deleting thing...

Really only 15? I mean, I never really thought about how many people are in the group. I just assume they are like 40 guys or so. That just makes this song even more impressive!
