This is a performance of Jimmy Webb doing a song called Elvis and Me, during the Steve Dahl and Garry Meier pay-per-view special back in 1991. It is a very rare treat. The special was taped and broadcast live at Steve Dahl's house on New Year's Eve. If you are a Steve and Garry fan, you'll enjoy the banter before the song, when Steve was obsessed with doing breathalizer tests on everyone at the party - to the consternation of Webb. But the song is a hidden, beautiful tribute to how special and god-like The King of Rock and Roll was, back in the day...

This was fantastic! Jimmy is one of the great songwriters of our time without question and this is one of my favorite songs from his Suspending Disbelief album or CD as they call the damn things now. He was kind enough to send me an autographed 8x10 photo some years back and I treasure that. Wish I'd been in the room on this night... well, through the magic of video I guess I was. Thanks for posting this. 5 stars or a big thumb up or whatever fits. The man is a legend.

Great to see Jimmy Webb, sounding great as always. Also, this New Year's Eve Steve Dahl & Garry Meier pay per view special was one of the funniest, and towards the end one of the most buzzed shows ever. Steve Dahl is the original of the inaptly titled "shock" jocks long before Howard Stern and all the rest that try to claim the title. Classic stuff with Steve & Garry and Jimmy Webb.
