  • Geez, this is one of my all time favourite videos on here :) Question for you. When you get the DC-8 for FS, can you customize the look of the aircraft, and even invent your own airline and paint scheme? I might want to look into this too. This video is just way too much fun!! Thanks in advance.

  • @Coaljet Thanks again Coaljet,

Yes indeed you can with a good digital imaging program you can do anything you want in creating a new livery.

I use an older payware Microsoft Digital Imaging and the freeware DXTbmp program.

BTW I just completed major improvments to the dc-8 engine textures for the Aerosim model.

  • Again, I have to say - you have created something awesome here. I watched the takeoff again but with the bass cranked way up on my speakers. It feels so much like the real thing. The speakers even vibrate with a good deal of "boom", which I'm sure you could feel sitting in the cabin of this beast in real life. Please make another film like this from behind the wing sometime :) Thanks again.

  • @Coaljet.. My Favorite part is the sound change as I pulled the throttles back to climb thrust. It sounds so REALISTIC it takes me right back to the my real life experiences I have had on the DC-8's.

Those DC-8's were built to last with High Quality Aluminum and trusty Titanium.

    Thanks Again Coaljet!!!

  • Beautiful quality, you've earned another subscriber. I also like the type of video. Realistic flying, no music covering the sounds of the engines, and no effects. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

  • @username5954 Thank You very much and I am really happy you like the way I present my flight sim videos. You hit the nail on the head 5954!!!

My #1 objective with my flight sim videos:

Keeping the videos as realistic as I can with no garbge to take away from the beautiful sights and sounds of Aircraft and Flight.

    Thanks again for watching!!!

Next video will be more L1011 material testing my custom TriStar sound package.

  • I think I want to get the same software so I can make my own DC-8 flights... I mean, really! Can't stop watching this vid, man! :)

  • @coolspindrift Thanks for watching!!!

Sorry it has been such a long time to respond.

  • @Coaljet Thank you for the nice words Coaljet!! I grew up as a Delta Air Lines Brat and was very lucky to log many hours of ride time on the DC-8's.

It really is great to have the Flight Simulator keeping the legendary DC-8 Aircraft flying.

You are very welcome Coaljet and thanks for watching my video.

  • Awesome, dude!!!!! That takeoff sounds like the real thing!! I have always wanted to see a real DC-8 takeoff vid, but this is just about the best SIM one yet!! Very realistic look to the nacelles too. Thanks a lot.
