  • @1400deadwood that is a very good question i live in Scranton the reason is because they don't usually drive this trolley so whats the use of doing that

  • How many miles in tunnel?

  • I can see where having a guy with a sign stopping traffic saves $ on automated preventives but shouldn't the engineer signal that the train is approaching @ 6:33 and 7:44? A signal made from a distance may slow down traffic and make it a bit safer for everyone ~ or so it seems.

    Anyways, thanks for the ride.

  • @Monkehpunk sry, thats just a myth

  • Monkehpunk . It's a fact not legend. The DL&W build an underground rail system through out Scranton to their buildings, Shops complex, office building, roundhouse, Station. ect.

I know this because I volunteer at Steamtown.

    Len.

  • Is it true that this was once part of a Scranton subway, including a station? I read on a metro newsgroup that there are urban legends of a Scarnton subway, complete with a now covered up station.

  • From 5:41 on you can hear that familiar "growl" that the Brill trucks made, it reminds me of how the old subway cars sounded on the Broad street subway in Philly before they replaced them with the Kawasaki's! I need to go to Scranton to see this line! How many trolleys do they run?

  • That was pretty cool, I like the guy with the stop sign, lots cheaper than paying millions for automatic crossing arms!!

The guy who griped about ticket cost was off base, look at the costs, 2 guys to run the trolly car, the tunnel's lights cost money, track-wire maint, electric cost for the system, insurance and all the rest. The money has to come from somewhere. Hopefully this will survive another 100 years!

  • in the very beginning it is extremely close to my house ^^
