The WAITIKI 7 performs "Sweet Pikake Serenade," a lovely exotica ballad written in the style of the great vibraphonist Arthur Lyman. Composed by group bassist and bandleader Randy Wong, the song nostalgically hints at days bygone and is reminiscent of the delicate, sweet aroma of the Hawaiian pikake flower. Birdcalls done by Lopaka Colon (son of Augie Colon, Martin Denny's original percussionist) make the imagery even more real.
