Here's our Baldwin upright player piano playing "Blue Eyed Sally", one of the very first piano rolls I ever bought for it. And do you know that after all these years and close to two thousand rolls later it is still one of the first ones I reach for when I want to hear the old girl play. She needs a little tweeking but I just haven't had the time to do it so I hope that you will enjoy this (maybe my only!) video offering of the piano. I've always liked the playing style of J. Russel Robinson and have yet to hear a bad roll by him. Thanks for stopping in for a visit and I hope you enjoy this slight departure from my usual music box and phonograph videos.

  • @Alprazolam Thanks for your comments!

  • This is very fun! I wonder, do you have a lot of other jazz recordings, in any format? Also, I'm curious about the date of this recording.

My piano is a Baldwin upright...but I have to play it myself. :)

  • Thanks Sarah. This roll is dated 1924. I have many other jazz recordings on 78 rpm records, late Edison cylinder and disc records and on piano rolls. Have fun with your Baldwin! Mine plays manually as well but I prefer playing it as in the video.

  • i think it sounds fine to me :)

I would love to hear more of these if you decide to put them up. Such a treat.

  • I remember the man that restored my player had the Ampico version of this song. I haven't heard it in over 20 years. Thanks!
