I was 11, watching my late mother, a classically-trained musician, sing, "I Don't Know How to Love Him" along with Helen Reddy. As I stood in the living room doorway watching in silent adoration, I believed my mother was singing about a specific man as she poured her heart and soul into this "duet" with Helen. Hearing this song again just now took me back in time and also brought me to tears. Thankfully, YouTube and Helen Reddy make me feel my late mother is still by my side.

I love youtube also, nostaglia music from my youth, songs that served as a diary of my life.I hear the song, and I'm back in a sometimes happy time, sometimes in a sad time, but always in an alive time. When I was young, I think I might have been like phillygirl, I heard songs, but they weren't my music, they were my parents. Today, I actually love the music of my parents generation & also some songs from today. If you can love, you will always find music to enjoy. If you can't, my condolences.

She was a pretty big star at the time with lots of hits on the radio (I was a little kid with a transistor radio) but this one hits you right in the heart.

Remember this song from when I was 11 or 12 - such a true tone to it that makes it unforgettable and haunting really.
