One of the most anticipated pedal debuts of the 2011 Nashville Amp Expo came from Wampler Pedals in the form of the SLOstortion pedal - a stomp designed to capture the classic tones of a Soldano SLO-100 amplifier. Brian was nice enough to give use a quick and dirty run thru of the new pedal just a few weeks before it is due to hit retailers.

  • @nadiyahz I,m about to replace my GT500 too for a Slostortion. It is worthy? Does the Slostortion has that big sound like the GT500? Please let me know. Thanks!

  • @wamcat. How you nail these tones. One

GT 500 replaced. I will make great use

of both circuits as designed. Great

    work.

  • i like the .38 special that was put in there

  • sounds like the triwreck to me

  • Nice job Brian - I also like the idea of the seperate volume boost for solos - very usefull - just can't decided between this and the Pinnacle delux - love the tones from that pedal - seems more open than the SLO, while the SLO is punchier - I either need to make up my mind or you need to do a buy one get one free for Christmas!!!!! - either pedal will go great next to my Ecstacy - i am addicted to the tones from that wonderfull box - all the best S.P. from the UK.

  • next, a Wampler Mark IIC+ !!!

  • I love the idea of the boost being a separate entity, unlike on my Pinnacle Limited. Also the three band eq is perfect as on Plextortion which i also have.

Just ordered SLOstortion..can't wait to hear and play it. Thanks Brian

  • uuuuaaaaa!

  • Sounds like anywhere from hair metal to a F.U.C.K.-era EVH tone. A real winner!!!

  • @bobbyatomic The trouble we are having is that no matter where we placed the boost circuit, some people want it elsewhere. We put it in the best place for this pedal and in respect of the market research we did. Most people already have a boost circuit and a distortion circuit, if they buy this they get rid of two pedals and have one. That's the intention...
