Everyone fails the CA Bar at least once---that's kind of the point of the CA Bar. It's a trial-by-fire, where law students get their confidence beaten out of them.

Horse$it -- do a little research first -- first-time California Bar Exam takers have a pass rate around 60%.

No, it's designed to test if you understand California law well enough to practice law in California. Professor Sullivan did not.

It is not at all uncommon for an atty to take the Cal bar more than once, as it is arguably the most difficult bar in the US.
