Testing out some techniques i've learnt from the Anime Studio forums that should make my heads alot better.
~~~~~
1. Eyes and mouth use layered shapes rather than masking layers. This means that they'll actually have outlines now (if you look at my older animations you'll see that the outlines on the eyes don't cover the iris or pupils).
2. A theory i've had for a while, making hair out of individual strands and then using the shadow options to create an automatic outline around the hair.
3. I've now got a set of values for making good hair movement; 0.2, 0.1 and 0.5.
4. Mouth animation with switch layers...this'll make lip syncing a HELLUVA lot easier! Same with eyes once I get around to it.
~~~~~
The picture this is based off is one of three sketches I did of my classmates as they would appear in a Saturday Morning Cartoon (similar in style to Kim Possible). I chose to do Sarah 'cause she had the perfect hair to try out my strand theory.

This is all practise for SV Halloween 2007, which I have given myself LESS time to do this year. D= Wish me luck!

  • You guys should be reading the official guide for the program.

    If you can finish 2 chapters a week (and practice what you learn) then you'll have learned everything about the program in about 18 weeks and would be able to create some good anime (but you may want to learn some animating principles with regards to motion - a good book is called "animators survival kit" which also comes in a dvd course that's really expensive).

  • ... creeper... lolz nice how you made the hair move with it.

  • Great, thanks for the idea with The hair

  • @SailorTaurus you are welcome :) and thx for your announcement about my channel ^^. BTW, I like your animations :)

  • @flashboy94 Hey dude, thanks for being a helpful chap. I'm terrible at explaining things. xD To everyone else, be sure to check out flashboy94's channel! :3

  • thx, that would greatly help me!

  • @doctabeats It's easy to move face elements with the head,

    and I think the easiest way is putting the mouth in an independent layer and rotate it with 'Rotate Layer XY' tool, instead of binding bone's way.

    I will make a tutorial about this way soon, and i will upload it to my second channel 'AnimatedCell' and welcome anytime :)

  • @flashboy94 thx, you wouldn't happen to know how to move the mouth with the body would you. I've tried binding the mouth to the bones, I'm assuming that's not right?

  • @doctabeats If you imported the image as a layer, select that layer and click the blue trash button.

  • @flashboy94 I know how to import but how do you trace and then remove what you imported just leaving what you traced?
