Bengali bhajan composed by Vrindavan das Thakura. Here are the lyrics:

Jaya Jaya Nityananda Rohini Kumara
Patita uddhara lagi dubaha pasara
Gada gada madhura madhura adha bol
Jare dhekhe tare preme dhori dey kol
Daga maga lochana ghuraye nirantara
Sonara kamale jano phiraye bhramar
Doyar thakura nitai para dukha jane
Harinamera mala gati dilo jaga jane
Papi pasandi jata korila dolon
Dina hina jane koila prema bitaron
Haha re gauranga boli pare bhumi tale
Sarira bhijilo nitai nayanera jale
Vrindavana das mane ei bicharilo
Dharani upare kiba sumeru porilo

Sorry, I was a litle sick so I don't sound my best.

* Many thanks to Abhijit Bhattacharjee who produced the recording of the music. Thanks to him and his brother also, for the mridunga and kartal playing that made these recordings enjoyable.

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful bhajan glorifying Nityananda Prabhu. It is a very nice raga also that you sing. For those of us who do not speak Bengali, it would be helpful if you include an English translation with the text. Jai Nitai!

  • Please read the comment feed, I have posted a translation. Thank you for your encouraging comments, prabhu. Jaya Nitai!

  • Jai Nitai

    Ha Nitai

  • Oh Nityananda Prabhu...You are so merciful...I'm your servant! Nitai-Gaura Bol!!

  • Why? Because this person with gold shackles is also a prisoner, is it not? So You should only have one worry. All other worries about how to make Your life better within this prison is useless. What You really should try to do is get out of the prison. This can be accomplished by chanting the names of THE LORD and constantly thinking about THE LORD. If You want me to elaborate please let me know.

  • Haha, I saw Your Youtube profile and it said You were searching for the meaning of life. :)

This material world is a prison house. If You think about it none of us are free from the problems of birth, death, old age, and disease. The only difference is between the prisoners. Some are bound with gold shackles, some with silver shackles and some with iron shackles. But does this mean that the person bound with gold shackles is superior? No!

  • Well, how did you know i took my first step?. I have been asking that question since a while. How do i overcome worry and constant thinking?

    Thanks indulekhadasi

  • Thank You, I see You are on a search of spirituality. You took the first step, so I must congratulate You. The Vedas say to start with 'athato brahma jijnasa'- which means to inquire to Yourself, "Who am I?" Anyway, thank You for commenting on this video. If You ever want to share Your spiritual experiences feel free to message me here on YouTube.
