it would be pathetic to banish one of the greatest players of all time, not to mention one of the most (if not the most) exciting player to be watched. earl is a legend and you should shut your mouth

@eatdrt98 i realize you posted this 3 yrs ago, but, seriously, fuuuuck you. strickland is, brace yourself, HUMAN! fuck conforming to the standards of a particular group, especially if those standards were set by hoidy-toidy elitists seeking approval from the mainstream population. we (the billiard world) need more pearls, & to suggest banning him is tantamount to endorsing artistic censorship. btw, earl & souquet go back a long way & earl dislikes him for very valid reasons. LONGLIVETHEPEARL!!!!

I laughed at how long earl chalked before his first shot. I chalk up for everyshot and I think it's good, but he probably had a good 20 second run (normal speed)
When Earl wins, somehow, he's a good sport. When he loses, it's UGLY. I hate Earl's sportsmanship.

@eatdrt98 : Because you would "like to see some gentlemen without inflated egos play each other," that makes you a big baby. To sit back in your armchair, watch other's engage in artistry and competition, and make declarations about what their egos or personalities should be like, typifies infantilism. And the idea of "some committee" banishing great players because of their shoe shines--as you wish for--is only mindless spectator churlishness. You're ONLY a big baby. ES is that--and an artist.
-
@GetMeThere1 How ironic. You are calling me a "big baby". You are sticking up for one of the biggest babies to play the game. No I am not miss manners in the making, but Earl the Squirrel should take some advice from her whoever she is. I would like to watch nuns play pool but more so, I'd like to see some gentlemen without inflated egos play each other and enjoy the game for what it is. Varner, Archer, Reyes..... 99 percent of people here can't stand him and for good reason.
-
@eatdrt98 : You're a big baby. WTF difference does it make to YOU how somebody else acts? Are you the new Miss Manners in the making? He's there to play POOL. We watch to see GREAT POOL. Beyond that, I don't give a crap how he acts. Would you rather watch a bunch of nuns play pool??

I usually enjoy watching people with talent play. Whenever I watch Strickland, though, All I can think is, "How is he going to make an ass of himself this time?"

>>> When Earl gets angry it is typically a whiny excuse for why he lost or missed a shot.
You picked the wrong video to make your points. Note facts: He was sharked by a bozo in the crowd with flash camera. He made the shot and ran out.
Your evaluation of McEnroe is just your opinion. Plenty of folks thought he was complete nasty idiot. So, I call shenanigans on your argument.
-
Almost a fair argument. When McEnroe gets angry, he gets angry at a missed call or something non related to his opponent or the conditions. When Earl gets angry it is typically a whiny excuse for why he lost or missed a shot. McEnroe was an entertainer and he knew it. Dickland is just a poor loser with no entertainment value and by the looks of it he can't hold his alcohol. If you win fair... you shake hands and smile. If you lose fair... you shake and smile. If you're Earl..your a dick

The world would be very boring if everyone was expected to behave and act the exact same way. McEnroe vs Lendl. Enough said.
dude you try freakin playing on tv like that, i mean earl is right, that guy had no business flashing him in the middle of his shot.

Out-fucking-rageous. When he wins he wants to shake hands with everyone in the room. When he lost to Souquet the other day on ESPN classic he snubbed him and I saw it happen on other time on a different match on u-tube. This guy is a bad winner, a bad loser and a horrible ambassador for the game. Some pro commission or commitee should banish him from the game for his actions and attitude. What a jag!!
