"The Subtle Art of Dharma"

Conversations host Harry Kreisler welcomes author Gurcharan Das for a discussion of his new book, The Difficulty of Being Good. Reflecting on his intellectual odyssey, Gurcharan Das elucidates his purpose in writing an extended commentary on the Indian epic, the Mahabharata. In the conversation, he also discusses the complex nature of the characters in the epic and the dilemmas posed by their failings and the constraints of the human condition. He concludes with a discussion of the lessons he learned for his own spiritual development and for understanding the moral dilemmas confronting modern societies.

  • @ granitec100.. There are always instances and examples to cite which cannot be sold to the audience. I think we'll have to look at what we have to share, and leave the rest ;)

  • Its surprising to see only 1394 views of such a nice talk. I'm sure this video would reach a couple hundred thousand/million views in the future.

What I get out of Mr Das is "trivia, trivia trivia". I love reading his articles where I gather so much on current affairs, history, and just loaded information, which only comes from being a voracious reader of just about anything, newspapers, magazines, books, conversations etc ;)

And Mr Das also replied to one of my emails. AWESOME ! :))

  • Mr Das, I am really impressed with your interpretation of Mahabharta in modern context. But I am just wondering how you are going to convince the western society of Kunti giving birth to Karna by reciting a mantra.
