Taking off runway 24L in a Boeing 747-400 from Los Angeles Int. (LAX) to Frankfurt am Main (FRA) aboard Lufthansa LH 457 on a clear afternoon on August 29, 2007. The 747's registration was D-ABVK, called "Hannover".

After performing a left turn over the Pacific waterfront, our plane headed east, overflying Mojave Desert, Nevada, Colorado, Minnesota, southern Canada, Baffin Bay, Greenland, Iceland and Scotland back to Germany. We had a smooth flight!

  • Which row was it? I'm flying on a 747 very soon and chances are that I may stay with row 36.

  • @LTU932 row 29, an additional economy row in the rear business class cabin / Reihe 29, war eine zusätzliche Economy-Reihe in der hinteren Business-Class-Kabine

  • After take-off, you flew south, did the plane make a massive left break after a while?

  • yeah, the plane turned east just southwest of Long Beach

  • @umahuma4 AMEN!

  • u cant see anything in ground lol. big wing

  • Have flown non-stop to paris and london from LAX. Does anybody know why the jets furn counter clockwise or southerly instead of clockwise or northerly in the direction of Western Europe??? Seems like a lot of wasted gas turning southerly first instead or northerly.

  • How long was this flight

  • Going to a better place

  • Look at the smog.

  • love this, especially the view of the pacific ocean@

  • it would be nice to see how big the inside of the plane was!

was there much leg room? how many isles in that international flight?

  • Its always beautiful taking off out of LAX! FYI, the planes going East always turn South then break East because they always take off to the West.

  • @umahuma4 it is SAFER only statistically, you may break all your limbs in a car accident and be ok in a year but you have no chance of recovering after falling from 30.000 feet ) I always take a car or travel by train where possible instead of flying )
