@MrMasticater Again, you're missing the point. Having a mental illness messes with your mind. You wouldn't be able to think "well, my family wants what's best for me" because your mental illness would not allow you to. It would lead you to think that they're trying to hurt you for some reason. Jealously? Revenge? You don't know. All you know is that you can't trust anyone. That is why it's so hard for people with mental illnesses to recover.

@MrMasticater To add on to that, even a mentally healthy person wouldn't put that much faith in what a doctor says. If a doctor told me to take something that would kill me, I'd get a second opinion at least.

@MrMasticater So if a doctor told you that swallowing bleach would cure your ulcer, and told you that it's not actually bleach and you only see it as such because you have a mental illness, you would drink it? I have a hard time believing that. You really have no idea what a mental illness does to your mind if you think it's as simple as "do what the doctor says".

@MrMasticater also to make it more appropriate if the docotor told me that the posion wasnt a poison and that I have a mental illness so that I think its a poison and I need it to survive I would still take it
