However, I do warn against 'routine' ultrasounds. Most MDs don't even know, but Irish researchers have conclusively shown that there is abnormal fetal cell division for about 72 hours following an ultrasound.
To make the picture, the body absorbs energy of the ultrasound, heating the baby up. This is dangerous - like getting low-grade fever.
It is a good diagnostic tool - but only IF there is a problem.
Congrats..:) I am a few weeks behind you at 16 weeks. This is my third pregnancy but (if all goes well) this will be my first (living) child..I lost 2 previously one at 22 weeks and one at 8 weeks. I have an ultrasound scheduled for june 16th at 19 weeks..Can't wait. The last scan I had was at 12 weeks..the doctor performing it referred to it as a baby as well:)
Congratulations!

@tesharika - Medical professionals who don't work for Planned Parenthood and the like know they are babies and call them as much.

Look at that little heart beating! :) What a beautiful video! Thanks for sharing! (Excellent choice of song, too. "More Than Words.")
