Junichi Kou'uchi directed the first Anime "Namakura Gatana" in 1917, while Mickey Mouse made his debut in 1928, I'm not saying the mouse was not influential on the Anime industry. Just that Anime existed before the Mouse.

Namakura Gatana was 2 minutes long, and shown in domestic theaters. Film historian Natsuki Matsumoto owns the film now. It was a short comedy sketch about a Samurai trying out his new sword, only to be defeated.
