i went into a 'pets at home'' store to buy some fish to feed my osca (he likes zebra danios and guppies) i dont let on to the stores tht am buying them to feed to my turtle and osca. but i asked him ''just out of interest do u sell fish for my turtle to eat as he will like live food'' the response from the shop assistant was of shock! she went skitz and said ''Its illegal to feed tropical fish or live fish of any kind to ur turtle'' me and my gf laughed after purchasing em.

@bkermike lol. i'm sure not to many people are on the lookout for people feeding fish to turtles. you should be fine.

Both frogs and toads are under stress. Harvesting these native animals to feed to captive fish is so unnecessary and environmentally wrong. Nightcrawlers and pellets would do the job. These little boys need to grow up or get help for their sadistic fetish.

Never be like this dumb kid and feed your fish toads or even frogs or salamanders. Yes toads secrete poison, we all know this, most amphibians do. Secondly, they often carry diseases that are foreign to your fish. Pet store amphibians do as well. Thirdly, you have no idea how that toad affected your fish. It was mostly likely in pain for days after you fed that to him. And fourth, if that amphibian was wild caught, you better hope it isn't endangered. If it is, you are moron. That is all.

@mrfishfilms funny story: I could hold a food pellet between my fingers about 5 inches out of the water and my oscar would (no bullshit) swim to the bottom of the tank and breach, grab the pellet (and my fingers sometimes) with his mouth. I was just screwing with him one day and he did it and scared the shit out of me. so then we made a game of it haha.
