IVOR JAMES - DING DONG DOLLY

A video depicting my "protest" song. I was a psychiatric nurse for thirty one years. When the big Victorian mental institutions closed, many of their residents were not ready for "care in the community" and were sent out into the wider world for administrative expediency rather than their own best interests. This situation is what inspired me to write "Dolly", a true story about a real lady who's name, of course, was NOT Dolly! Mavis heard the song and kindly offered to enact the story. The video was produced by Peter Jeffery and Julie Greenwood. The original audio recording was produced by Pete Haywood.
