12th of September 1683

The Battle of Vienna took place on 12th September 1683 after Vienna had been besieged by the Ottoman (islamese) Empire for two months. The battle broke the advance of the Ottoman Empire into Europe, and marked beginning of end of Islam treat to Europe.

The large-scale battle was won by Polish-Austrian-German forces led by King of Poland John III Sobieski against the Ottoman Empire army commanded by Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha.

The Turks came to Vienna to kill and rape and steel and destroy! The Viennese did not invite them!

It doesn't say that the Great War against the Turks ensued until 1699 and also Russia and the state of Venice joined the fight. Austria had to deal with Hungarian Rakoczy uprising which was supported by the Turks until 1714.
