I used to work there, as well. The lamp did flicker, but if you noticed, it happened when the lamp was a little heated. BUT, I DO have a picture of a strange aura going from the floor up to the bed, not close to the floor, but in a strange bent light formation on the left-hand side towards the window if you are standing at the foot of the bed. I was there when the picture was taken on a digital camera, and it was an overcast day. The window was bright and the colors were of blues and greens.
