Steely Dan was FANTASTIC! This song was one of their best and did not receive the attention it deserved!!
-
@anchorrot It's really a personal taste thing and the girls are okay. David Palmer was exceptional in my opinion. We're meant to have individual taste aren't we? No need for anger, bro, when you don't agree. Have a happy day.

@angefox1 load of bull just because you cant imagine other people doing the vocals
this is change they call that mister and they do a great job...

This is beautiful. Although it would be neat if Becker and Fagen would for once reunite with David Palmer and "Skunk" Baxter for this and some of their other older tunes. STEELY DAN RULES!!!!!!

who was the original singer? He had such a gorgeous voice. Nothing else comes up to the quality. I find this one disappointing.

@angefox1 David Palmer did the original vocal which was excellent, I agree. I think having a woman singing these lyrics is a nice change up for the song, given it's story. And these women sounded just beautiful.

Correction! Robert Palmer (Addicted to Love, Sneaking Sally in the Alley) did the original vocals.

@Tmoore926 I'm definitely a fan of the late, great Robert Palmer. But I'm pretty certain it is the lesser-known David Palmer who sang on this track.
