For those that dont know, The Sons of the Pioneers are a great American singing cowboy group, who appeared in many movies in the 1930s and 40s. They were founded in 1933 by Roy Rogers. The group still performs, although all the original members are deceased. They brought a number of traditional cowboy songs to the forefront, including real cowboy songs that were found by John A. Lomax (Cowboy Songs & Other Frontier Ballads...superb reading). The Smithsonian has labeled The Sons natural treasures and they are all members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Sorry, this is soulful stuff to me, although I know it isnt soul music. Lol. This is from 1941. It was in a movie called Red River Valley.
