Alsa Modular Synth: Minimoog patch

Alsa Modular Synth (AMS) is a open source emulation of the Moog Modular. I've been using it for quite a time now, and last week I made a patch that is able to mimic the capabilities of the Minimoog (knowing that the minimoog is actually a little, pre-patched Moog Modular).

I guess the audio could be a little bit better, but this is the first time I edit a video.

Hi, I just wonder if it is possible and practical to use polyphony in AMS? If it could do that, then it would truly be a master synth...

Of course it can! :)

In fact, I record the sound for this demo in poly mode, you just need to start AMS with the -p option, for example

$ ams -p 16

will give 16 note polyphony.

alsa modular synth is very underrated, its just this thing you discover when clicking on stuff on your new music distro. When you start it up it looks like nothing and you would think that it is an abandoned project, but the sounds it can make are really good and its extensible with ladspa plugins. A lot of the technology comes from CSound. Its one of the better sounding modulars on linux. I hope more people try it.

@firehandszarb Yes, AMS was a steeper learning curve when compared to other pre-patched VS. Zynaddsubfx is also great and IMHO is even more difficult to do sound designs because its inner working is so complex.

I found out that the terminal needs to be open in order for the polyphony to work, that's what I did wrong earlier.

Now its time to send some Beethoven midi into the synth while I adjust it :D
