Police crackdown on drunken thugs.. For once.

This weekend saw Operation unite, A crackdown in major city's across Australia and New Zealand on drunken violence.

My question is, why don't they just have extra police on the streets all the time, instead of having them writing out tickets and being stuck in the legal system, due to people contesting their tickets.

I totally agree operation unite should be done all the time, i went out with a few mates that night in brizy city. It was so much better than normal with cops everywhere, much safer.

Couldnt agree with you more, and id think you would find that most decent law abiding citizens would agree. However we cant have the politicians parting with a few extra million dollors per year out of the hundreds of millions they have stashed away in the coffers!!!!
