What may be the most counter-intuitive, and best, arguments against the stupidity of most wars. James Garner and Joyce Grenfell joust on heroism and cowardice with a surpising end. Great filmaking from Artheur Hiller and Paddy Chayefsky, 1964.

I think you missed the point here. What do you think allowed Hitler to lead so many into his aggressive war? Precisely the sort of "valour worship" denounced in this clip. That is what makes people willing to start wars. It makes no sense to say that war is the answer when it was the likes of Hitler who started the wars. If war is the answer, what is the question?

Very apt.....a good read would be Gen Smedley Butler from WW1 who wrote "War Is A Racket" an excerpt "there are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights"....another would be economist Lawrence Dennis' The Economics of War". I do believe there are some heroic deaths... but most in war have been for others, historically, the fodder was general populous for the gain of elites observing from beyond the theater of war. Sad
