With open headers I'm getting it ready to take in for exhaust work.

  • well high performance cars like nascar have open headers (i think) on your average car with a 350 i would imagin you loose HP with open headers, mainly because most engines are made to run on a certain amount of backpressure and this eliminates it. dont quote me on this though.

  • is it better if u have open headers? wat does it do it u have opened headers?

  • @chicano67801 OPen headers reduces back pressure and increases exhaust gas flow from the engine. The main drawback to open headers obviously is the noise, but the mechanical draw back is that street engines are designed to cool the exhaust valves with exhaust gasses. Sounds odd, but its true. so it actually needs the exhaust to keep from burning or scorching a valve and causing valve train failure.

  • @MystikalDawn nah nascar has straight pipes coming out the right side infront ogf the right rear tire

  • you locked the keys in huh...

  • cool :)

  • next stop after the exhaust shop...the body shop

  • dhiggzy-- you got something better? hes got a 350 idiot

  • the sound of open headers is always great! even if it sounds like an old second world war tank.
