  • As a huge GG fan, I'm going to pretend this interview never existed.

  • Bea Arthur was a little uppity when it came to acting. Bea came from the Theatre and despite her great success in Television never really respected the medium very much. Betty was never a theatre actress having started in television from the time it was still an experiment. The difference in their acting styles is actually obvious if you pay attention and Bea just didn't think much of Betty. But they still worked so well together!

  • When I have a bad day, I just go to YouTube and type "Betty White" and then my day isn't so bad anymore. Such a sweet woman. Long live Betty!!!!!!

  • @HunterNylund Context context context! Aren't you reading the other comments? I said that for the other posters here, not for Betty White.

  • @Salsero12 Lucy deserved the comments. She gave Bea a hard time.

  • @HunterNylund i agree, i always thought bea was the one with the attitude, which betty and rue have both said.

  • @HunterNylund When Bea messed up and they said "cut" then Betty said, "Bea screwed up!". Bea looked a little ticked. Whenever Bea would mess up, she would just laugh at herself, she wouldn't call out the other girls for messing up like Betty did.

  • @millers3888 More divaish? I don't think we saw the same bloopers. In the ones I saw Betty was being playful and having fun with the other cast members and audience. I know what diva behavior is all too well and Betty White doesn't fit that description in the slightest. She is one of the most down to earth celebrities that has ever been in Hollywood.

  • @Rudy61287 Betty White knows this as well. She was just answering honestly a question that Joy Behar asked her.

  • The show would not have lasted 7 years if any of the actresses had actually disliked each other. Again, it was just a small professional difference and Bea was able to deal with it. That's all it was.

  • Some of you are taking this way too seriously. She only said that she didn't feel Bea was that fond of her but that she adored Bea. Rue McClanahan originally made this public in an interview with TV Guide about a year before she passed away, but everyone pretty much knew this even way before that. Bea Arthur didn't hate Betty White, they just had a small professional difference because Betty White flirted with the audience and Bea didn't care for that since she was a trained stage actress.

  • I heard in an interview that Bea resented the hell out of Betty for winning the first emmy award. I love the character she played of Dorothy but from what I hear I don't much care for Bea Arthur but I LOVE Betty White.
