Did you know that your greatest joy can also be one of your biggest tax deductions? You can get back up to $1,000 on your tax return if you have a child 16 years old or younger. Your child must be 16 or younger by the end of the calendar year. He or she must be a US Citizen, a US National, or a US Resident Alien. For more information, please visit: http://turbotax.intuit.com
why does everyone keep saying only $1000 bucks its $3500 per kid. Wow. Oh and @ crazyabo that would be unfair to parents to take away the child tax credit and deductions. ya know alot of parents send their kids to private school and want nothing to do with public school like myself and my husband. so not everyone relies on others to pay for their kids.

i think that the credit should go untill the child turns 18 or grad fron high school, WHY DOES IT ONLY GO UNTIL 16?

Nice advertisement. I would say call you representative and say no to tax deductions for having children. There are already too many folks on earth and this is providng an increadible amount of stress on its sustainability. Recall, that parents already benefit from free schooling and other tax payer supported services. (and, I agree with public education). The tax deduction is just pushing it too far.
