I went to Gayhurst road school with John Gardner, he was tough then. I met him about 25 years later in Hackney. (John if you read this remember clever Trevor) he was a modest and very nice guy.
@matrixsenior I think it was more of a case at being pissed off than a coward.

what everybody is forgetting is that paul sykes was 34 in this fight, gardner was 27

@irishgeal1 Give him a bit of credit, he'd had 8 fights man! Both men fought hard, one was too inexperienced. Sykes was hardly a clown mate.
