This is my 1979 XS650 that I made into a chopper. It was great fun, but I sold it.

  • Using the polio button? Super kool bike but what happened to the kicker?! Mine's electric only, so I'm building another one that's kick only! Hmm- maybe I'm just jealous..

  • @Psychobikerbill: It kicks too- just hard to kick and hold the camera.

  • Dude you used the electric start=gay.

  • Dude- at least I have a bike and don't cruise youtube all day looking at other guy's bikes. ;-)

What can I say? I'm lazy.

  • Looks very nice- I enjoy a good custom. I don't care what you ride up next to- if you're on a custom, they've been outclassed. When I'm on my chopper, most guys tend to turn or speed away when I pull up next to them at a stop light. I see you posted this a year ago- the blue header pipes indicates a LEAN run condition- you really need to re-jet the carbs before you melt your exhaust valves.

  • Those are aftermarket thinwall exhuast pipes, so they blue *really* easily. Every indicator (other than that) says they are right on, so I'm not too concerned.

  • Anybody taking the same risks as me is ok no matter what he rides or how it starts-shiny side up brother.

  • nice to bad you sold it. electric start very cool. pipes are sweet sounds great for a 650. i only hope my project bike is this detailed when im done mostly stock but great visual and audio anesthetist (00' sv650 i know its not a cruiser but im making it a custom street fighter)

  • Nice. What seat did you use?

  • sounds kinda weak

  • I do have one, an '83 that I'm rebuilding, I also had an '81 that was mint. I'm just jealous because the electric start on my 83 is shot.

  • very nice sir, when we were taking the top part off the engine after we took it out the oil line snapped, he said we could make a custom one, he did for his H-D Ground Pounder ( his line didn't break ) did you make that weld-on?
