This is indeed the true nature of a "religious but lost" man. He/she will try to twist the words of others or the almighty to tickle other mens ears, in order to further his own stupid and selfish goal.

What about the words of Jesus? If you have two coats, give one away? If we share with the needy, God will bless our relationship with Him. THAT is an abundant, prosperous life: giving God the glory in all we do. I like your comment where you say: .... who's faith is unshakable in the worst of times'. THAT is were it is all about!

I learned a lot of Paul Washer (sermons here on YouTube). He prays: God, if You can take more glory for Yourself, when I am sick, then lét me be sick. If Your Name will be more glorified when I am healthy, that heal me. The same thing with being poor/rich. I like that! It is all about glorifying God's Name! By the way, the bible is quite clear about giving. (when you have 2 coats, give one away etc.)

This is parodying "pastors" who say that being a Christian means that you will always be healthy and wealthy, and it'd be a good idea to give some cash contributions for insurance. They would say that "times getting bad" shows that something is wrong with your faith. So yes, these are the preachers who are treating God (or rather, their viewers and their donations) as a vending machine.

By putting Christ first and having faith, we are blessed (prosperous) in abundance and when that is the case, we are supposed to share that abundance with others...being a light on the stand...a shining example that we are an anointed people who's faith is unshakable in the worst of times...and modern religion (for the most part) has lost that relationship.
I know I'm probably preaching to the wrong crowd, but I'm thankful that I'm preaching to a crowd that is saved through Christ.

I preach it with pride!!! I'm not ashamed of the blessings that I have putting Christ first in my life and when the times get bad, I still look to him who is ever present in my everyday existence.
If you are against the preachers who treat God like a vending machine, I'm right there with you, but if you are trying to tell me that being a "good Christian" means that I need to be poor, then I will respectively disagree.

I know I posted my comment, which got blasted, but the things is, this is just a poorly made video and I think we have much more important things to do.
I know I'll get blasted for this comment as well.
Very funny!...and sad at the same time. I would venture to say that most people who believe in the 'prosperity' gospel are poor.

I couldn't stop laughing, when I saw this - this is brilliant! Especially with the send up of "Let Everything That Has Breath" and "I Will Sing Of Your Love Forever". Ha ha!!!
Where can I get those 24k replica chains of Silas and Paul?
