In 2010, Dow Corning launched its Citizen Service Corps to create a living laboratory that will give employee volunteers from across our company unique opportunities to:
Discover -- Gain firsthand insights into the needs of people in emerging and developing economies
Serve -- Work with local organizations on service projects with the potential to make a tangible, valuable and sustainable contribution to the community
Innovate -- Explore new opportunities for innovation and growth that could improve the quality of life among people who currently have little or no access to silicone technology
Chip Reeves is our director of discovery and recently wrote a blog post for Next Billion (http://www.nextbillion.net/blog/2011/11/02/housing-series-why-dow-corning-sends) about the value these types of service programs can bring to companies, the nonprofit agencies they serve and the community.
