@britishfirstandlast Ireland's president isn't very political; more like the monarch or one of the governor-generals of the Commonwealth. Scotland could be a republic on that kind of model rather than the US model. It's a much better fit for a parliamentary system anyway.

Scottish Independance is about being pro-Scottish. No need for the anti-English stuff. Lots of my English friends vote SNP because they are a positive party.
