The third annual Pluto is a Planet Protest was held in Seattle on March 13, 2010. The event was sponsored by the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Company and 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing center that helps students, ages six to 18, develop their creative and expository writing skills.

  • Have these people not got anything better to do with their lives?!?

  • @AnGrYGrEeKGuY

Insulting me won't change the fact that Pluto isn't a planet. The IAU astronomers were quite clear on that. There are many other reasons why its not a planet too. So be quiet.

  • You ppl are REALLY REDICULUS HHAHAAAHAHAHA !!!!!!

Do you even understand WHAT you are doing ??? The Astronomers set a RULE about planets, which ALL the "planets" have exept Pluto. All the planets except Pluto have enough strong Gravity force to clear any other object in SPACE !!!! Did you get it know ???? Put some mind in your head , it'll help you .... a bit.

  • @Planetary0 Do you know how to read ?

Have you EVER read an Astronomer's book ? OR at least Wikipedia ?

Pluto and Ida DOES NOT HAVE enough GRAVITY FORCE to pull out other objects in SPACE !!!! PUT it on you mind alreadY !!!!

  • True but how many asteroids are on the same plane as the other planets in our solar system and travel in the same direction?

  • @cyadex2k

What about the asteroids with moons? For example, Ida has a moon, Dactyl, but no plans to make Ida a planet!

  • Anything where kids are positively motivated to learn I support. Why did Pluto have to be demoted? Any body in space that has orbiting satellites we would call a "planet" in the books I studied growing up.

  • My name and the names of those that I love are on a CD attached to the Pluto New Horizons spacecraft and yeah IT IS A PLANET!

  • Retarded people are retarded.

  • I understand some people are a little upset about Pluto not being a planet, but we have to be willing to be open minded and accept new discoveries and new changes. Science is not like religion. It's not static and it can change when it must. In the early 1800's we thought we had 11 planets and Pluto was not one of them. Our current knowledge about the nature of planetary formation tells us that Pluto is not a planet. Honestly, Pluto is a lot more interesting now anyway.
