Ugandan dictator Idi Amin will be known in history for slaying 250,000 of his own people but Forest Whitaker wanted to capture his charisma as well as his monstrous side in his portrayal of the infamous African leader in The Last King of Scotland. Forest went back to Amin's childhood and met with his family and people who understood him privately rather than publicly

  • Yes Idi Amin was an evil man extremely mental ill he murdered even more from what I understand than 300,000 he ruined Uganda. Maybe if he hadn't been insane and was a true humanitarian he could have made Uganda a great nation.

  • Forest is incredible, he is really intelligent and talented man not just another great actor. I am glad he is helping that he is helping orphans in Uganda. I wish more rich people would go to all parts of the world and do that so we could truly help pple.

  • I read that later Ugandan Governments of Obote and later Democratic leaders murdered many more Ugandans than Amin ever did. Strange, how the world works.

  • The woman narrator should not be allowed to speak. MY ears hurt.

  • @Salvatrucho213 He won one

  • great actor

  • ldi amin u mean idot amin laugh me rass off

  • So he found humanity in Idi Amin?

Forest Whitaker suddenly seems a lot less cool now.

  • @Samgurney88 Nice. Your obstinate ways are astounding. And no, we're not debating about anything now. We were "debating" in such a way that I was referencing history and you were referencing an attitude.

  • @Tripo1iSamson So are we now debating about how we should debate or both telling the facts of how it 'should' be done? I'm confused.

I know that my beliefs will not always be accepted by everyone. And I would rather not debate at all than debate with someone who is intent on having only one point of view remaining but who hasn't proved his argument enough so that that is the state of affairs. If you give me facts and argument, then we will agree. But uncertainty and opinion are found everywher

  • @Samgurney88 Sigh, I give up. I posted a shit ton of links on your page but they kept/keep disappearing. Just look up Jihad in the Time of Jefferson, and Ancient Jihad, and other books/free sources. There was Jihad in Russia before the US even fought WW1. There was mullahs supported by the nazis, by there mutual hate of the Jews, before Israel even existed. And no, a debate isn't stubborn opinion stabbing, it's facts. Fuck this shit.

  • urm no I don't see them yet :)
