Aren't these animals amazing? Please help us protect our South Australian Upper Spencer Gulf breeding aggregation... new pressures are mounting from proposed industry! There's info on our channel under 'Cuttlefish Country' and a petition to sign on our website...

Look how alert it is, the way it turns its head to check its surroundings. Amazing intelligence for an invertebrate

95ellington i personally have caught bug cuttles in my fishing time and ill tell you now ive seen some really big ones including one i caught last year was 1.4m and weighed 47 pounds.the reason i think judging by the behaviour of the fish was either you were close to the spawning ground or it had already picked its grounds and was trying to warn you off so its mating chances were higher or it was a terratorial male but it looks like a female so idno but good job to frannyw26 for woosing out

The ones i met, were not so curious. They were most likely to run away :-) But they were not Australian cuttlefish.

Mmm ... yes, we have the little ones as well ... that is why this one here in Australia is called Giant Cuttlefish (Sepia apama)and can grow up to 50cm and 12kg! And by the way ... I am not a little girl either, so he was pretty big! :o)))
