  • They have another video with this lady called "Running the Gauntlet". I would like to be able to see the whole show of Whew on YouTube. I've seen the show where they had the contestant named Randy Amnesia on the show and he won $25,000 in the Gauntlet of the Villains. Too bad that this show is not on the air anymore. Its been almost 30 years ago. I use to play this game with my brother and sisters when it aired and I use to love watching the "Gauntlet of the Villains" as well.

  • Well, you're not getting the entire episode because this is as much of it as tape traders have.

  • Note to Burt Sugarman: Get the bug out of your ass and license the rights to GSN, or just let GSN just buy the show period.

BTW, Carrie was an awesome charger and she had one of the best Gauntlet runs of all time. Now we need to see Howard Wilson's run.

  • I never know Tootsie played this game

  • @pacmannick Oh Pooh on the IRS for now! What a great quote at 5:55.

  • Carrie just doesn't know how to get excited.

  • Did anyone see the clock slide across the screen @ 0:52 & 1:39?

  • @Rlotpir1972 I don't know if it's still up here, but there's a clip with Betty White on the Gauntlet. She flubs a couple of bloopers while she runs the first five villains, which takes away from the time the contestant has when he starts on Villain #6. That's a problem with celebrity players on shows who have nothing to lose--they mess it up for the contestants playing to earn money.

  • This show FASCINATED me when I watched it originally back in 1979 when I was 9 or 10 years old. I didn't know what a blooper or "long shot" was. I thought they called it "long shot" because you "shot" up to level 6. But it's the odds against winning when 2 of the 3 spaces are blocks. I was fascinated with the clock's drumbeat and the theme songs and used to enjoy playing them on the piano or an organ equipped with automatic drumbeats. I have an episode recorded on audio cassette somewhere.

  • I'll bet people couldn't play this today... GREAT POST!!!

  • $20,000 Pyramid, you mean. :-)

  • @AdamNedeff: Did she shout "pentothal" @ 1:44?

  • Good LORD, that woman is LOUD.
