One more thing is I may suggest a demonstration of one of these Optimods processing Electronic genre like Trance, Dubsep or progressive house because we have had a few stations appear on the AM dial aimed at the youth with the likes of "Switch 1197" in Brisbane. The station that I may be starting will be playing underground Electronic genre.

@Cringle84 You make an interesting point, though I normally wouldn't expect this request for an AM processor. We're very particular about the songs we choose to demo. We usually choose music based on how clean the original recording is. We do take special requests from clients on occasion as well. I do have a large collection of techno and industrial music. Are there any particular songs or artist you would recommend?

Why is the dB meter stuck? by the way, bit of interest in radio myself, I did volunteer work in a radio station once, and have played around with some gear, having a particular interest in AM radio... mind you on a limited budget built my own compressors, this one sounds good. At the moment I am keeping an eye out for broadcast licenses in the Australian LPON/HPON auctions (and know someone who rents them) to start a station, and then will be looking for one of these old OPTIMODS in the works :)

@Cringle84 The main VU meter that appears to be stuck is switched to monitor the one of the power supply rails, which should always be approximately 100% on the meter scale. Good luck in your venture. If you find an Optimod on Ebay, let us know. Many US Ebay sellers will not ship internationally, but we have helped out many of our overseas clients in the past by having the unit shipped to us for refurbishing, then we ship to the end buyer.

@RadioCtrlDWife Cool! will definitely be considering you when the time comes. One thing about Optimods in the USA, I'm aware all appliances operate on 120 volts, I just hope that Optimods are easy to switch over for 240 volt for here... but mind you, a voltage stepdown transformer is not too bad proposition and dont cost too much.

@Cringle84 The 9100 and 8100 have a 115v 240v switch. The 8000 and 9000 would need to be rewired for 240v, or use a step down xfrmr as you suggest. The 9000's power inlet is an old style AC-3 inlet w/ filter. The same inlet used on a lot of older HP and Tek equipment. This means you need a special pwr cord which is not easily replaceable. I would highly recommend installing a standard IEC inlet/filter as well.
