Opening of Southwood Rd Recreation Ground

On Wednesday 8 April Cllr Mike Rusbridge, Mayor of Tunbridge Wells opened the new play area at Southwood Road Recreation Ground in Rusthall. He and the Chair of the Rusthall Village Association, Jenny Blackburn, planted a commemorative tree to mark the occasion.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council worked with the Village Association, local school and young people to design the space and ensure that the equipment meets the needs of the community. They also made sure that the design was in keeping with the rural location. There is a ballgames area, skating equipment, a BMX track and plenty of play equipment, mainly for older children.
