The GP38's were so much better than the stuff we got today!

GP-38s were some of the best passenger diesels LIRR had, but seriously I really hope CSX and Canadian Pacific will one day get granted track rights to run on LIRR property. It would look so cool seeing big blue and big red chugging through Ronkonkoma or East Hampton.

I was at Greenport once. I always wanted to live on Shelter Island. Peaceful and secluded. Yes I know VERY expensive!!

Nice to see a Ex-New York Central ACMU (which was de-electrified way back when) in the middle....
This looks like it was shot in the parking lot of Angelos Italian resterant in smithtown.. correct?

@inbocaru It was shot from the parking lot of 196 West main st. The Angelos Rest. parking lot is on the east side of the trestle. The place I took these videos is on the west side of the trestle. Both places are on the same side of the street.

when was this filmed
JG2703 4 years ago
Most was filmed in 1998. Ifyou watch closely the date is at the beginning of the clip edit. Only one clip of the stopped NYA freight train was shot in 2001
