  • The VW Repair Handbook I have says the engine has to be removed to replace the generator in a 1970 VW Transporter. This video shows a beetle so I wasn't sure I could get my arm around behind the fan housing in the small van engine compartment. I just tested it and I had no problem reaching the fan bolt so I'll give it a try. Thanks loads. You saved me a bundle.

  • vlw tiozinho, mas acho ce tah precisando toma uns gole pra firma o pulso.

  • I was watching your video on replacing the generator. I was told to check my generator, take off the neg. battery cable while running. It dies. Does that mean my generator is trash? If so, how much should a generator cost so I dont get ripped off? I love your videos. They have helped my more than once!

  • Thanks much for this video. Plainly and simple you explained the method on how to excite the generator. Thanks to this amazing video, my bug is charging its battery once again!

  • @G3RMAN91 voltage regulator most likely, welded or burnt contacts

  • ok i have a 72 karmann ghia and for some reason i think my generator does not work because every time i step on the brake the brake lights turn on and my stereo shuts off and also with the head lights when they are on they look low and once i accelerate they start geting bright... could it be the generator? thanks guys

  • All your videos are great . Top of the line .

    Thank you very much .

  • Great videos, learned a lot. I just bought a 72 bug and I would like to see what all is inside the trunk of a bug. Mine is missing the wiper fluid container and the cable that goes to the glove box is just laying loose. Keep making your videos their great.

  • great video. thank you
