Simply great! I love this footage. 5*!!!! Little bit of fuel spillage by the refill. Who cares, some water over it a go.

@tog20 It's a crying shame there's so little footage of the Bentleys. During the court case involving Old Number One (a Bentley Speed Six), news broadcasters showed a clip from it crashing. That and the few clips in this documentary are the only clips I've seen of the Bentley team racing.

@flaperke Hmmm. That might well be doable. There's some very good physics engines out there these days and there's no shortage of information on Goodwood and the original Le Mans. Throw in modern force-feedback steering wheels for consoles and the kind of kicking those drivers got back then and you've something that would enthrall and terrify.

The first 30 years boasted an average increase of horsepower of around 33% a year (4hp at the turn of the century to the 45hp of the Tracta A in 1929). I can see that being considered a Golden Age - particularly for R&D - but the near-miraculous achievements in both car design and driving technique of the 1930s, given the Depression's affect on budgets, mean that era is as worthy of the name (at least to me).

They really have to make a game about vintage racing! No ABS, no TCS... no belts!

Love the refuelling at 8:10. What health & safety?

that filling station guy is just hillarious!
This was the best part so far, with the Targa Florio footage and all that. If only I could go back in time and watch these amazing races...
