Taking a look at this amazing sampled bass instrument from Native Instruments and Scarbee. Very well programmed to allow you to get some amazing sounds, yet it's easy to use. Based on the Fender Precision bass. Watch the video and find out more.

Recorded with round-wound strings to get a fat and dirty sound, SCARBEE PRE-BASS also features a vast and incredibly intuitive set of playing techniques. The level of expression makes for a truly authentic and fun playing experience, and lends itself to a wide range of styles, from reggae, to pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B and much more.

SCARBEE PRE-BASS is fully playable in real time, with almost all articulations (including mutes, harmonics, hammer-ons, pull-offs, grace notes and more) available without key switches. What's more, SCARBEE PREBASS makes exceptional use of the KONTAKT interface, displaying a fretboard overview with articulations dynamically updated as you play. With over 4,000 samples covering all four strings, nine velocity layers, and advanced scripting that makes playing both highly intuitive and stunningly authentic, it's easy to see why the pros choose SCARBEE PRE-BASS.

  • I hate writing negative comments, but I've seen some videos now by "Sounds and Gear". It feels that this man is just hitting some keys randomly, no phrasing, no actual playing whatsoever. This in my opinion doesn't do any software out there any justice.

  • @misterkeyboard yep, you're correct, not trying to play anything, not here to teach anyone how to play. I show the interface and show the sounds, you can hear what it sounds like, that' s the point, which plenty of people enjoy. There's plenty others on this site for you to watch, you can get all the playing and phrasing you wish. Thanks for the comment, even though you hated writing it lol :)

  • Im kind of new to the virtual studio stuff this looks pretty good but how does it actually work? Can you select the notes from the virtual fretboard and create tunes that way?

  • @daviebluenose you load it into a daw program and use a midi keyboard, midi controller, or the piano roll (step sequencer) to create notes for it to play

  • Is it possible to export a bass line I creat in Kontakt into WAVE FILE?

  • @MultiTorry you can't sequence in kontakt, so you can't create a bassline in kontakt. You need to load it into a daw of some sort so that you can sequence it.

  • @gloryboxmusic it was pot, i'm his drug dealer

  • What is the key range on it? I like the sound but I wonder if the bass goes as deep as the 5 strings with a deep low 'A' or does it only emulate a 4 strings (no lower that 4th string 'E' note)

  • @Emagick77 I feel ya man, it's all good :) Guess it depends on the sound you want in the end. A bunch of good stuff out there.

  • @SoundsAndGear Yo joe wat up homie , wat they do... listen you are correct about trilian being the best all around bass mod..but that wasnt my point and my intention to compare the two on that level , i was just speaking from a musicians point of view as of playing in a band and compare the two vsti's to a real bass guitar as in retrospect to the electric bass guitar acoustics and dynamics and thats all my point was if you close your eyes and play both the scarbee in my opinion sounds closer
