my hideous hair ~ bad haircut

I had been growing my hair for 9 months to get it past my shoulders to do the Gwyneth Paltrow collar bone length bob. This is probably my main frustration. My hair was supposed to be at my collar bones, not my jaw line. It's so bad it's funny. I am past anger and crying and on to humor. Is humor a part of the stages of grieving? I don't think I have cried in a year.

This woman should not own scissors. How did things go so horribly wrong? Is she a meth addict? I could have paid my friend $10 to cut it after she drank 2 bottles of wine and I KNOW she could have done a better job. Instead I paid $60 for this mess on my head. I did get my money back though. I called and told her I was beyond tears and there was nothing to be done to fix it. I bought my friend a Starbucks to go in and get the money for me. She did. She will do anything for Starbucks.

Now I will let it grow for a bit and go back to my expensive ($120) hair dresser in Santa Monica for a fix up. I will have my tail between my legs and he will give me shit. This is what I get for trying to save money. Cutting corners is not always a good idea. Doesn't always turn out so well. While I was sitting and waiting... my intuition told me to fake a meeting I forgot and leave. I didn't listen. I stayed. Trust your inner voice people! It knows what it's talking about!

Also.. to those of you dealing with more serious issues in your life... please excuse the drama... I just happen to be lucky enough to have only this going wrong... for now.

This video swayed a person who was planning to make an appointment with "she who should not own scissors" to take another route. If I saved one person from the Chopper.. then I have done my job.

Wow, if I didn't know you lived in the U.S. I'd have sworn you'd gotten your haircut by the same woman that just did mine! I ask for shoulder length and layers THAT'S IT! And instead I got some ugly ass bob that hangs inches above my shoulders! One side is longer than the other and I've got the dip in the back and the duck tale. I feel your pain from '09 and am now living it! I've cut my own hair better than this mess!

@babyhilts Been over a year & my hair has returned. Although, the trust of turning your hair over to someone else is never again so easy. I recently tried a new stylist & I acted like such a freak telling her how I wanted it and while she was cutting it... she had to think I was nutz. Explained I had once been traumatized & I had post traumatic stress disorder over it. LOL.. not really.. but man. It SUCKS. You feel so violated & to top it all off... everyone can see how violated you were!!

that's what gwenyths hair cut is like. but you don't have gwenyths hair and you clearly aren't styling it every day. gwenyth has an asymmetrical haircut. it's the same. it's not done by HER hairstylist so no it won't be exactly the same, because you aren't paying 600dollars for it. but that's her haircut in your hair. everyone knows this when you get a haircut, you have to factor your hair.

@megahann12.... Oh.. okay. I'll give you the ladies contact info and she can cut your hair :) She took off 6 more inches than she was supposed to. Kept messing up and going shorter. That was the most disturbing part. All is well now. I have never gone anywhere but my expensive hair guy now. It's all good. He doesn't EF it up.

It's okay to laugh. You're not the only one. My sister's hairdresser, on the other side of the country, made a point to show all of his clients when they sat down in his chair. He said tears would roll. Tears of laughter, that is. I think he showed them to scare them or threaten them. Keep them loyal. When I went to my usual, expensive hair dresser to fix it he said... "Honey, sometimes free is too expensive."

wow that is the cut I got today and I have been crying for an hour now it was past my shoulders and now its your length and i wanted a friggin trim i am beyond upset my hair is even worse as it is a triangle at the bottom and no layers...it is so bad...back to crying again..

@megahann12 That's soooo not gweneth, lol. True sometimes you get what you pay for, but even highend stylist can butcher hair, I've seen it being in the industry. I charge medium prices, and give people what they want. Your best way to find the best stylist for you, referrals. If you see someone with amazing hair, ask them who did it and if they've been going to that person for a while. If they rave about them, you should be good hands. =)

Totally understand. So I wanted my ends cut right? And she cut 4 inches off my hair!!!)': I have been growing my hair for like everrr! And so it's up to my shoulders and I hate it so so much and I hate it and I know it will grow back but it sucks right now. But to be honest it really doesnt look that bad. Maybe you could straighten it. But trust me when you think your hair looks bad it looks worse than it really does.
