I was on my laptop when I heard some snapping and cracking from an old candle I was burning. The flame got bigger and began burning with such an odd flame and the wax inside the glass jar was boiling. I decided to record everything as it happened. I was not blowing on it, no fan was on and it was a closed room. What causes the flame to split?
Probably the wick split or the oil in the wax caught fire.

ok, i noticed this when im washing the dishes.
i fill oily bowls with water and i see, the oil moves at the rims/sides of it, when you said the wax inside the jar was burning, the oil of the wax moved to the side and the flame is more concentrated there. the reason why it splits is because of the rapid rising of the temperature, exciting the atoms of the oxygen and making the flame go wild...
i dont know if what i said is true, its just my theory with my young imaginative mind. (im a kid lol)...
